Wigan to splash January cash on striker
Wigan already failed in a bid for Blackburn’s Jordan Rhodes but they are looking to sign the forward again, this time on-loan.
The Latics put in a bid under the value Blackburn bought Rhodes for, and was quickly rejected, but this time Wigan want Rhodes on-loan before signing him permanently in January, this is according to the Daily Express.
Wigan were persistently looking to bring Jordan Rhodes in to the DW Stadium throughout deadline day, but their bid was rejected due to being an insufficient valuation of the striker.
Owen Coyle is now looking to sign the Scottish star on-loan during the loan window, and told the Daily Express, “It’s no secret that we’d like to add another striker.”
Wigan are looking to have the striker for the next few months before they sign him permanently in January.
Blackburn may want to price Wigan out of signing their prized asset in Rhodes.
Rhodes’ price is likely to be more than the eight million pounds that Blackburn bought him for last season.
Rovers sit in mid-table in the SkyBET Championship, and are looking comfortable to challenge for the play-off places.
Rhodes may feel that the move could be a sideward step, and may not join up with Wigan where he has been linked to for many months.
