West Ham star set to see specialist about injury
Andy Carroll’s injury plagued career is set to take another hit because of a fresh injury to his heel.
Fears are growing that the 24-year-old will be out until the new year, news which West Ham fans really didn’t need to hear at the moment.
The Londoners spent a majority of their total spending for the summer on Andy Carroll after impressing last season while he was on loan at the club.
With Carroll injured, the Hammers have been left with just two recognised strikers.
It could have just been one had Mladen Petric not recently joined on a free transfer. Modibo Maiga is the only other striker at the club.
West Ham spent over £15 million on the player but has yet to make an appearance this season and it could be sometime next year before fans see him kick a ball again.
The 24-year-old was also injured for some of last season which reduced his game time to just 26 games in all competitions in which he scored seven goals and assisted a further four.
The England international was hoping to keep up appearances in the national team but erratic form and injuries prevented that from happening.
Liverpool sold the star for an embarrassing £20 million loss but they still received good money from West Ham which was then put towards a few players.
