West Ham sign former Fulham man on free transfer
According to the BBC, the 32-year-old has signed a deal until the end of the season. The Croat has being out of contract after West London outfit Fulham released him at the end of the season despite scoring five goals in 23 games for Martin Jol’s men.
Record signing Andy Carroll has suffered another foot injury in training on Monday so Sam Allardyce is short on options up front, with few recognised strikers in the East London side’s squad.
Allardyce remains to see the extent of the damage to Carroll’s foot.
The £15 million man, who signed from Liverpool this summer, has not played since the end of last season thanks to a heel injury.
Petric, though, could be a decent signing for the Hammers. However, after scoring two goals on his debut, Petric went on to score three goals during the rest of the season.
After starting his career in Switzerland with FC Baden and Grasshopper, where he made 114 appearances. He also has a spell with Basel before signing for German duo Borussia Dortmund and Hamburg.
