Top FIVE deadline day deals
The summer transfer window was a record breaker for the English Premier Leagues for more reason than one.
Tottenham Hotspur received a world record £85.3million fee for Gareth Bale.
However, the record breaking didn’t end with the Welshman’s move to Real Madrid.
Premier League clubs spent a record £630million during the transfer window, reports BBC Sport.
Spurs were the highest spending club reinvesting the money received from the sale of Bale and more, spending nearly £105million on seven new players.
The transfer deadline day was also a record breaker.
£140million was spent on deadline day in England, £30million more than last year, the BBC further reported.
All eyes were on Arsenal who were still to spend any of their rumoured £70m transfer budget.
Manchester United were also yet to add significantly to their championship winning squad throughout the summer, not through lack of effort, with every possible rumour being closely scrutinised throughout the day.
