Spurs midfielder holds talks with Fulham
Sky Sports understands that no deal has been agreed between the two clubs, but a deal could be reached before today’s 11pm deadline.
The Cottagers also look set to complete the loan signing of AC Milan midfielder Urby Emanuelson today, and the arrival of Huddlestone would further boost options in midfield for Martin Jol.
However, Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas is unsure whether a deal will be reached in time
Speaking to Sky Sports after the 1-1 draw with Norwich City, he told Sky Sports: “There was an interest from Fulham. I’m not sure if they’re going to follow on that interest.
“We’ve allowed the club to speak to the player. He’s a player we rate very highly.”
When asked about players incoming to White Hart Lane, the Portuguese manager told reporters how he needs to add quality to his squad, but doesn’t anticipate any more players making a move to the Lilywhites.
He added: “It’s not impossible that a couple of things happen. It’s highly unlikely.
“We need to add quality to the squad and our quality to the squad is keeping the players we have now and Lewis [Holtby] arriving.”
Spurs face an away trip to West Bromwich Albion this weekend, and after crashing out of the FA Cup last weekend to Leeds United the London club will look to secure a Champions League place.
