Sevilla tell Liverpool £8 million will land midfielder

Sevilla have slapped an £8 million price tag on young midfielder and Liverpool target Luis Alberto, Talksport understands

The versatile player that can play in both midfield and upfront is reportedly high on Brendan Rodger’s wish list this summer after an impressive campaign in the Liga Aldente on loan at Barcelona B.

Rodgers is keen to complete all signings early on having already confirmed the signing of Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas, Rodgers is keen to bring another player to Anfield from Spain.

However it is believed that Liverpool’s valuation and Sevilla’s valuation of the player are still far apart.

The 20-year-old could still move to Barcelona, who have until June 15th to exercise the ‘first option’ clause in Alberto’s contract.

However it has been reported that Barcelona are not too keen on the signing as they look for a higher calibre of player to match their needs in midfield, leaving Liverpool in pole position.

The Merseyside clubs value Alberto in the region of £5 million however Sevilla think he is worth £8 million, meaning there is more negotiations to be done before this transfer is complete.
