Roles reverse as Man United interested in Chelsea ace
The Mirror are reporting that United are after Chelsea’s unpredictably brilliant defender David Luiz.
Chelsea have been on United’s case all summer about the availability of Wayne Rooney but have been rejected in the advances they’ve made so far, including two bids.
Now it’s the Red Devils who are on Chelsea’s case about the availability of David Luiz as David Moyes believes that Jose Mourinho will not use the Brazilian as much due to the defenders wild streak, which could force the player to move on especially as the World Cup is just under a year away.
However, the fact that Manchester United are targeting David Luiz does not mean that they will include Wayne Rooney in any offer, no matter how much they want the erratic defender.
The Reds have had a few problems with their defence over the past few seasons because of constant injuries to star players such as Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand.
However, they do have Jonny Evans, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling who can all play there but they all have a history of injuries as well.
Moyes is still looking to sign a second player and he believes that the 26 year old will be a perfect replacement for the aging Rio Ferdinand.
But the Scot will have to compete with Barcelona who have also targeted the Brazilian international as they desperately look to bring in a defender.
