Napoli join Liverpool in race for Chile international

Italian side Napoli have joined Liverpool and other Italian clubs in the hunt for Barcelona forward, Alexis Sanchez, according to talkSPORT.

The Chilean has not had the best season for Barcelona this season, starting in only half of his 18  appearances, whilst getting on the scoresheet only once and setting up just three.

Sanchez was bought by Barcelona in the 2011 summer transfer winder for £23 million from Seria A team, Udinese. And with the 24 year-old struggling to get into the starting XI on a regular basis, the La Liga leaders might have to let him go earlier than they might have anticipated.

Even though he might not be a favorite in Spain, in Italy, Sanchez is still regarded very highly, which is why it is no surprise to see Napoli join the race for the winger.

Napoli intend to use Sanchez’s services in a bid to try and get back into the Champions League are crashing out of the Europa League in the round of 32, 5-0, on aggregate to Czech team FC Viktoria Plzeň.

Juventus are the only other Italian side rumoured, as of yet, to be interested.

If a transfer does go through, which it is expected to do so, this summer then Barcelona will be looking for a high percentage back if not all of what the played for Sanchez from a potential buyer.

Sanchez is in contract until 2016 but the chances are he will not see out his current deal, so the question is, where will he be next season?
