Merseyside club to snatch Sunderland target
Sunderland have agreed a loan deal with Inter Milan for Zdravko Kuzmanovoic, but the deal may be not that straight forward.
The 6ft 1in creative midfielder that Di Canio has been desperate for at Sunderland is willing to come to the club but the 25-year-old is also holding out for Everton to come in.
There has been interest from the Toffees all summer and Roberto Martinez wants Kuzmanovoic as a replacement if Marouane Fellaini leaves Goodison Park to join his old manager David Moyes at Manchester United.
Sunderland, however, does have a plan b and c, but could find it difficult to land Roma’s USA international Michael Bradley. After seeing a £5 million bid for the midfielder rejected, the Black Cats have been told to up the offer.
Paolo Di Canio has also been tracking Swansea midfielder Ki Yueng-Sung only a year after he joined the Swans from Scottish club Celtic.
Meanwhile, Di Canio won his first game last night. The result came in the Capital One Cup after Di Canio’s men came from 2-0 down to defeat Dons 4-2.
Connor Wickham (2), Jozy Altidore and Adam Johnson scored for Sunderland and Di Canio said after that match: “MK Dons carry a physical threat and they pass the ball well.”
