Liverpool deal for midfielder nearly finalised

Liverpool are close to sealing a deal for Malaga midfielder Manuel Iturra, reports talkSPORT.

The Chilean’s contract with the club is set to expire this summer, meaning he can discuss a free transfer with clubs already, but it seems as though Liverpool have won the race for his services.

International caps

Iturra made his first venture outside South America, joining Portuguese side U.D. Leiria in 2011, establishing himself in the first team. He was then loaned out to Liga Adelante side Real Murcia, playing in the majority of the team’s games.

Iturra has made 12 La Liga starts this season, and has also appeared for the team in the Champions League.

The 28 year old has plenty of experience, having been capped 34 times by Chile, and making close to 300 club appearances.

Transfer rumours

Liverpool are expected to be busy this summer, with a whole host of players being linked with a move to Anfield recently, most notably Paris Saint-Germain duo Kevin Gameiro and Jeremy Menez.

The Reds have enjoyed a resurgence of late, with their recent 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspurs propelling them as one of the league’s most in-form sides.

A strong summer transfer window of acquiring players of Iturra’s quality, coupled with a similar vein of form, could allow the side to seriously challenge for a Champions League place next season.

Haha, wikipedia. If you look below that it will also say ‘last updated in January’

Also, the column you’re looking at is league performances.

If you check more reliable sources, you’ll find he’s made 23 appearances in all competitions this season.

Who on earth uses Wiki as a reliable source?

How can you call someone clueless when you’re using an unreliable source as your source?

So either Iturra gets injured a lot or Malaga have only played about 23 matches in all competitions this season if not how come only 23 appearances and im pretty sure half of those were not starting appearances either. How come ???Why are Malaga happy to let Iturras contract run out ?and 13 appearances in the league alone still does not sound like a first team player to me unless like i said before,he gets injured a lot even if we are talking just up until january .They put up a video of Ittura on this site somewhere recently and i’ve seen a few videos of players on here which just show the best clips of a player but for some reason the 1 i saw of Iturra was the shortest clip of a player i’ve ever seen.It just showed 1 goal he scored in the second leg of a cup against Barca which might sound good on paper but barca were already 4-2 up after the first leg and didnt put out there full side also the goal came from a real bad error in the defense .I really dont believe this player is anything special at all and i think he will be a flop .If we sign him i hope im wrong

          • DILLBOY

He was loaned out to a portuguese 2nd division side for crying out loud .Surely that has to tell you something.

      • DILLBOY

And just to add to that if he was that good why are Malaga quite happy to let his contract run out ?and why did he spend the first 7 years of his career in Chile before coming to europe ?If we get this guy i would love to speak to you again after a season with him in our team i really would.I might be wrong but i very much doubt it.
