Galatasary reveal Sneijder fee
Turkish club Galatasary have revealed that £6.2million was the size of the offer accepted by Inter Milan for Wesley Sneijder.
According to Sky Sports, the two clubs have had an agreement for a few days now, but no deal has been completed as Sneijder is believed to be stalling as he waits for other offers.
A host of Premier League clubs have been linked with the Dutch international over the past few years, with Manchester United a constant admirer and more recently a number of their rivals, including Liverpool.
With the fee now set, reports this morning suggest Liverpool are preparing a late bid for the midfielder.
However Galatasary remain hopeful the 28 year-old will complete his switch to Turkey despite the club’s president admitting they can only wait so long before turning their attention elsewhere.
Unal Aysal, the Galatasary president, said “We’ll wait another three or four days for Sneijder.
“If the deal collapses we have alternatives. The figures quoted in the media are wrong. Our deal with Inter is worth €7.5million (£6.2million).
“The player knows our proposal. Inter are now calculating things with him. Our offer for his wages are below €5.5million.
“It is also true that our coach Faith Terim wants Sneijder – he is the first name on the list.
“I see no reason why the transfer should not go through. Even if it does collapse, it won’t be the end of the world.”
