French champions turn attention to United winger
The Ligue 1 champions have spent heavily already this summer in order to secure Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, defender Marquinhos and Lucas Digne to the Parc des Princes.
But their spending is not finished yet as according to the newspaper, head coach Laurent Blanc is lacking a winger and that has led the Frenchman to United’s Portuguese star.
But reports in France also state that PSG are interested in Real Madrid’s Argentina star Angel Di Maria and that the club will look to bring in one winger or the other.
But The Express indicates that the French side would prefer Nani over Di Maria, because as the Argentine’s nationality makes him a player outside of the European Union, PSG would have to dismiss a non-EU member of the squad in order to fit in with regulations.
Di Maria would also be unwilling to leave the Bernebeu whereas Nani has been in and out of The Red Devils’ starting line-up for the past couple of seasons.
The newspaper indicates a fee of £8.5 million may be enough for United to let him go, with the player so far failing to agree a new deal at Old Trafford.
But any potential deal could encounter problems in the form of Nani himself, with the player speaking out about his desire to fight for his place earlier this week.
The 26-year-old was reported as saying: “I hope to win the league again and, for my personal wishes, I want to be at my best and score a lot of goals. Like I said, I just need to be at my best and then everything will come together.”
