Five things we learned from Fenerbahce vs Arsenal
Arsenal took a huge stride towards another season of Champions League group stage football on Wednesday night with a comfortable 3-0 victory away to Fenerbahce.
Kieran Gibbs and Aaron Ramsey both struck in the second half before Theo Walcott earned the Gunners a penalty, which Olivier Giroud converted.
It was a vital win for Arsene Wenger’s side, after a dismal home defeat against Aston Villa on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
One downside was an injury to Laurent Koscielny – the Frenchman received a serious cut to the face after a challenge from Pierre Webo.
However, the victory for Arsenal all but put to bed any lingering fears they may miss out on a place in the group stages of this seasons Champions League.
There is also a hope among many that the win will lead to Wenger splashing the cash in the closing days of the transfer market.
But what could be learned from the game at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium?
