Chelsea to give youngster a chance

According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea are looking at the possibility of offering on-loan West Bromwich Albion striker Romelu Lukaku the opportunity to claim a first-team spot next season.
This comes as a result of the Belgian’s lightning form for the Baggies this season, where he is the club’s top goalscorer with 13 goals to his name this campaign.
Tough
However, the youngster saw a tough beginning to proceedings in England during his first season at Stamford Bridge, where he failed to make the desired impact that many Blues fans anticipated.
Despite this, Lukaku is still at the tender age of 19 and has plenty of time on his side, which will persuade Chelsea to give him the chance to hold down a starting spot.
Naturally, West Brom would like to see the Belgian stay on at the club for at least another season, but have come to terms with his possible return back to South West London in the summer.
Boss Steve Clarke told the Daily Mirror: “He is Chelsea’s player. He belongs to Chelsea and he will go back there in the summer.
“I have never thought it would be possible Chelsea would let him come back next season.
“He came on a season-long loan and we’re grateful we got him.”
Homeland
Lukaku made his name in his homeland Belgium where he bagged 41 goals in 98 appearances, prompting the national side to include him in their set-up.
This led to Chelsea securing his services in August 2011 for a fee believed to be £10million rising to £17million on a five-year contract.
