Chelsea star believes win is imperative

hazard

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has underlined the importance of their next game against West Ham United.

The Stamford Bridge club, who are not yet certain of a Champions League place, have had a recent dip in form, dropping points in three of their last five Premier League games.

Must improve

The Blues still have a chance of winning two trophies this season which would be quite a twist for manager Rafael Benitez, who is not a favourite with the fans.

Hazard believes that a win against West Ham could provoke a winning streak in all competitions.

He told the London Evening Standard: “Three points are a must for us on Sunday – we need to win the match.

“Chelsea are a big club – we have to win titles and to qualify for the Champions League.

“There’s a lot to do but we’ll try to do it all.”

Fatigue

Chelsea have a congested end to the season with the plan of playing four games in one week.

However, the Belgium international sees the benefits of playing regularly.

When asked about West Ham he had this to say: “It might favour us at the start of the game because we should be able to set the tempo and get into our stride quicker because we’ve been more used to playing competitive games recently.

“But where it might favour them slightly is the fact that towards the end of the game tiredness may set in for us, while in effect they should be stronger because they’ve had a bit of a rest.

“It’s something we have to deal with, and with the support of our fans behind us I’m sure we will be able to.”

With the champions of Europe crashing out of the competition this year, Chelsea need a strong finish to the season to insure they have the chance of repeating last season’s heroics which won them the title.
