Chelsea and City target set to see out contract

Chelsea and Manchester City target, Neymar, has cast doubts over a possible move to either club after revealing he wants to remain at Santos until 2014.

According to reports, the Brazilian sensation’s contract expires at the end of 2014 and the 20-year-old seems to be happy to see out the remainder of his contract.

Neymar is one of the highest rated youngsters in world football and it’s believed Barcelona and Real Madrid are the front-runners for his signature, but that hasn’t stopped the two financial powerhouses of the Premier League making a swoop him.

World Cup

However, it looks as if the Santos forward will not be leaving Brazil this summer and the world’s top clubs may have to wait until after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil before being able to get hold of their man.

In a recent exchange with Globo Esporte, Neymar seemed to be frustrated with the constant questions surrounding his future at Santos.

“When will you stop asking me that? I’m tired already,” said Neymar.

“I have a contract with Santos until 2014 and I intend to see it out.

“If I stay or leave before that it’s up to Santos’ president.”

Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro, the Santos president, recently revealed Chelsea came close to signing the Brazilian wonderkid in the summer, but an agreement could not be reached.
