Bayern defender taunts Gunners

Bayern Munich’s defender Daniel van Buyten thinks that Arsenal are dead and buried before their second league even starts.
The Gunners face an uphill battle to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and they have to overturn a 3-1 deficit away from home.
History against them
Arsene Wenger’s troops need a footballing miracle if they are going to win the tie – there are only two teams that have ever come from behind after losing the first leg at home, Inter Milan and Ajax.
The Sun reported that van Buyten said: “It is nearly impossible that Arsenal could knock us out of the Champions League.
“This Arsenal team is not so dangerous as in other years. Without Robin van Persie, Alex Song, Cesc Fabregas and Sami Nasri they do not generate as many chances.”
Under fire
Arsene Wenger has come under fire from sections of the Gunner fan base for failing to spend money on substantially improving the squad, while letting go some of the club’s most influential players.
Arsenal’s next games are against Swansea and Reading, two games they will need to win if they face any chance of securing a top four place this season.
