Arsenal hit with transfer blow

Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has rejected rumours that striker David Villa will be moving to Arsenal in the summer, reports the Daily Express.
In January, reports were suggesting that Arsenal were very close to signing Villa.
No Move
Barca’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has told ESPN that Arsenal’s approach for the striker never amounted to a serious discussion.
Zubizarreta said to ESPN: “We did not receive a written offer from Arsenal. He is an important player for us.”
The 31-year-old had a health problem in February, as he was admitted to hospital with kidney stones.
The Spaniard has scored seven goals in this season’s La Liga campaign, and hit the back of the net in last night’s 4-0 win against AC Milan.
Who’s Next?
Arsene Wenger will be looking for a striker in the summer as it seems he has missed his 30 goal a season striker Robin Van Persie, as summer replacement Olivier Giroud has only scored nine league goals so far.
So, if Wenger is in the market to find a goal scorer, it looks as if Villa needs to be struck off his transfer wish list.
