Arsenal to battle Prem rivals for wantaway Milan ace

Reports in Italy suggest both Arsenal and Manchester City are said to be keeping an eye on Stephan El Shaarawy’s situation at AC Milan.

The addition of Mario Balotelli in January has had a negative effect on the promising striker, as he has only managed to add two goals since Ballotelli’s arrival, contrasting to the 14 goals he notched before January.

El Shaarawy only recently signed a contract extension with the club, which saw him commit his future to the Serie A side until 2018.

However, he now appears to be unhappy after two years at the San Siro, and could be on his way out in the summer.

His exclusion from the starting line-up to face second place Napoli at the weekend, with the reports in Italy, which suggest that 20 year-old has told friends he is currently unhappy with life at AC Milan, have further intensified speculation surrounding the ex-Genoa star’s future.

According to talkSPORT, Napoli are also believed to be interested in El-Shaarawy, with the in-demand Edinson Cavani looking likely to leave this summer.

It has also been claimed that there is interest for the Italian international in England, with Arsene Wenger expected to try and strengthen his attack following the exit of Robin van Persie to Manchester United.

Also, City are expected to spend big this summer after failing to mount a real challenge to re-gain the Premier League this season.
